Let Your Vision Board Work With You, Not Against You

Let’s just get this out of the way: I love a good vision board. I do!

I’ve cut out glossy magazine photos like I’m prepping for a soul collage since before Pinterest was even a thing. There’s something fun, even magical-feeling, about getting clear on your desires and putting them out where you can see them. But here’s the real talk most people won’t give you: A vision board made from pressure, panic, or perfectionism is just a paper panic attack in disguise. Let me explain.

The Problem Isn’t the Tool It’s the Energy Behind It

If you’re creating a vision board because you think it’ll finally fix your life, or because you’re trying to out-journal your fear, or because everyone else on Instagram made one and now you feel behind… Pause. Breathe & let’s not. Because that’s not a tool, that’s a trap.

The “tool” works when it’s used to amplify who you already are, not compensate for who you’re afraid you’re not. And here’s where it gets juicy:

When you align your tools...all the journaling, scripting, affirmations & all the glitter and glue stick goodness...with an identity that already believes you're worthy? Whew. Whole different vibe. Whole different outcome!

Let’s Break It Down:

  • You can journal daily, but if your inner monologue still says “this is never gonna work”… guess who’s driving?
  • You can affirm “I am magnetic” while secretly feeling like you’re invisible… and that disconnect will echo louder than your voice.
  • You can manifest money, love, peace, all of it, but not from a state of gripping and grasping. Why? Because forced vibes don’t flow.
  • And the universe doesn’t respond to your Canva layout (lovely as it may be!)... it responds to your core frequency.

So What Does Work?

  • Clarity over control.
  • Curiosity over comparison.
  • Creation over compensation.

You get to create a vision board not to get what you want, but to claim who you’re already becoming!

That means your job isn’t to sit there staring at it like it’s a magic spell. Your job is to ask: Who’s the version of me who already has this life? And then: How can I act like them today even if it's just a little?

Boom. Now your tools are rooted. Now your board has power. Now your affirmations stick.

Wanna Keep It Real?

Here’s your Marcie-style mini checklist for using your manifesting tools on purpose (not on autopilot):

  • Are you using this tool from inspiration or desperation?
  • Do you feel calm and connected when you’re using it or a little frantic?
  • Can you imagine being the person who already lives that vision?
  • And most importantly: Are you willing to shift how you see yourself first?

Because the vision board might show you the dream...

But it’s your identity that gets you through the door.

One More Thing:

  • You’re not behind.
  • You’re not doing it wrong.
  • You don’t need more glitter pens, prettier quotes, (I may or may not know this from my own experience), or a bigger moon phase to finally make it click.

What you need? More honesty. More self-trust. More remembering that you are not your circumstances... you are your assumptions. And those? You can shift!
